We’ve all watched someone get kicked out of a bar, a store, or an event for one reason or another. They might have been temporarily banned or banned for life. Usually, we never truly know the backstory to why they were kicked out, but it sparks our interest.

So we’ve discovered some awkward, hilarious, and strange stories from people on the internet who were banned from somewhere for life. They certainly didn’t learn how to beat the system. Some of these stories are certainly hilarious, so check them out below.

It’s true what they say; we all have at least one doppelgänger walking around somewhere in the world. Unfortunately for this man, he was banned from a cafe in North Wales because the owner mistook him for someone who was actually banned. He had never been to that cafe before. He probably spent those several decades wondering what his doppelgänger did to get kicked out of that cafe (via Stilletto_Rebel).

We’ve all played games while eating, like seeing who could drink the fastest or how much wasabi someone could handle. Usually, we get away with these games without consequence. Unfortunately for this person’s uncle, they were banned from a diner in the ’90s because of their “eat a 72 oz steak in under an hour” competition, which they tried six times in two weeks. We don’t know what’s more surprising, the fact that he was banned, or the fact that they managed to eat a 72 oz. steak six times in two weeks (via Darklliter).

Things come up. That’s why we have to cancel or reschedule plans. Usually, it’s without consequence, except if it’s the “Late Night with David Letterman” show. This Reddit user shared how they canceled their reservation to the show, and the intern told them, very seriously, “you should know if you cancel you will never be allowed back. Ever!” That alone would make us not want to go. If you have to cancel your reservation for a famous show in NYC and are banned because of it, that’s pretty harsh. It’s not something we’d want to support (via snizuitz).

Money certainly makes the world go round. We applaud this Reddit user for taking a stand and pocketing the extra 20 dollars. We’d do the same. Not only did he make money, but he also helped out a fellow student. It’s a shame the bookstore owner didn’t want to help them out, especially since they’re young students with a limited amount of cash. That 20 dollars can go a long way, and surely there’s another bookstore in the area he can bring his business to. It was worth getting banned from the bookstore (via Complicated_Business).

Having to use the bathroom during a movie is completely understandable and even expected. How could a theater ban someone from using the bathroom? That’s a basic human need. Even if they were “distracting the other guests,” by standing up and walking down the aisle, it shouldn’t equate to getting banned from a movie theater. We’re in shock. Maybe they should never go back to that theater since they seem quite strict (via ZebraLionFish).

Talk about radical honesty. Even though it’s hilarious, he’s doing that waitress a favor. No one wants to order food from someone who has bad breath. That’s one way to lose your appetite. It seems like that waitress didn’t want to be told they have bad breath and resorted to kicking them out of the bar as retaliation (via TubeToUranus).

We understand getting kicked out of a pub for being too drunk. Usually, once someone is kicked out, they take a taxi home and sleep it off. This Reddit user shares how they were kicked out for being too drunk, and then decided to climb over the fence. The anti-climb paint worked, and they were immediately spotted. It makes sense they were banned after that. At least they admitted that they learned their lesson (via hellip).

This Reddit user was banned for pole dancing. That deserves a round of applause. They were totally in their zone, and even when they were asked to stop, they didn’t. We wish we had that kind of courage. We can also understand why they were banned. At least they went out with a bang (via fastestman4704).

It sounds like that librarian needed someone to yell at that day. It’s a pretty harsh way to get banned from a library, considering that student was only trying to contact their mom. Give them a break! It’s not like they were trying to steal a library book. Sometimes, we need to contact our parents and let them know what we’re doing. At least they finished sending their email and even got their final words in when they said, “good, wasn’t planning on coming back here again anyways” (via Stouty22).

We’re all wondering the same thing: how did they manage to get banned from Tesco for life? Did they steal something? Put up a fuss? Luckily, because their brother is the security guard, they’re still allowed in. Interestingly enough, they never asked their brother if they’re still banned. That’s something we’d want to know right away. Maybe it’s something better left unknown (via SufficientRead1).

Getting banned from Target for causing a noisy disturbance? That’s the first time we’ve heard of that happening. If that happened to us, we couldn’t even be mad. It’s way too comical. That’s probably the first and last time we’ll hear about that happening (via The_Arabian_King).

Honestly, we want to be friends with that cross country teacher. He and his friends sound like so much fun. Hijacking a canoe at Tom Sawyer’s Island in Disneyland? That’s worth the story, even if they were banned “for life.” It seems that Disneyland didn’t stick to their ban, though, since he’d still gone dozens of times since his ban (via Strumpster).

Honestly, we all secretly hope we’d be in a Walmart with someone hijacking the PA system. The first time he shouted. Later on, he went back and gave a description that perfectly matched his friend’s outfit. That’s brave. We’re all wondering what the reaction of every customer in Walmart was. It’s a hilarious way to get banned from somewhere (via Reddit).

How this Reddit user managed to mistake mini speed boats for bumper boats is beyond us. He was banned for mistaking a ride for another ride, which involves smacking into the other amusement park riders. It’s almost so funny that it’s forgivable. We would’ve loved to see the reaction of the amusement park manager when they saw them bumping the boats (via EverythingIsOnFire).

We’ve all slipped while dancing drunk at a club. It’s almost expected. In the mid-’80s, this Reddit user slipped while drunk, while also ripping open a woman’s blouse, who also happened to be the owner. That’s just bad luck. If it was a different woman, he probably wouldn’t have gotten banned (via TwisttheBlade).

It’s one thing getting yourself banned, but getting your entire fourth-grade class? Surely that’s a record. This Reddit user got their entire class banned from a McDonald’s for having pickle races. It’s almost worth it. We’re sure the pickle races were worth the ban though (via giveyouazerbert).

We’ve all played Club Penguin, and most of us have thought about typing in a curse word. We probably didn’t, though. Club Penguin banned him when this Reddit user typed in the word b*tch. What a way to go (via zacktyzwyz)!

This is probably for the best. Getting banned from a Virgin Megastore isn’t necessarily a bad thing, considering they cease to exist and have now been replaced with “Zavvi.” Even though this Reddit user shoplifted, it’s still a funny story. It seems like he was the one that won (via CyJackX).

We can see why the owners thought these people were a religious cult, although it doesn’t seem like reason enough to get banned. They were just roleplaying and keeping to themselves. If they started including random passersby around them, we could understand the ban more. Maybe the owners were just being cautious (via Siderealcat).

Since when does someone get banned for browsing a store? This guard has a different definition of browsing. This Reddit user was “just picking stuff up and putting them back again.” How else do you look through stuff? It’s probably a good thing he was banned from John Lewis since it doesn’t seem like a very welcoming store to shop in (via AFalconNamedBob).

It comes as no surprise that Sears banned this Reddit user for stealing a pair of sunglasses 40 years ago. Stealing comes with consequences. And consequently, a shop banning you is one of them. It could’ve ended a lot worse, as he could’ve ended up going to jail as a result (via roadrobber).

40. Never Been There
