50) Missing Venomous Snake

Creepy signs mentioning missing venomous snakes send massive shudders down our spines, even if it is only mildly venomous and shy. This sign mentioned there was a 3.5-foot missing snake. That’s huge, and more than half of most of our heights. We don’t want to imagine what it would be like accidentally running into that snake during a trip to the zoo (via Bored Panda).

49) 20 (Or More) Wolves

One wolf is enough to send us in the opposite direction. This creepy sign that mentions 20 (or more) vicious wolves is enough to move us slowly and carefully back into our cars. It’s interesting, though, because if the sign only mentioned security cameras alone, it probably would not have been enough to turn us around. It’s the wolves that get us (via Bored Panda).

48) Broken Lion Glass?

It looks like the people at this zoo don’t need to worry according to this sign. However, creepy signs like this that tell us one third of a glass door protecting our lives from the lions beyond it is broken isn’t something we really want to see. Most people who saw this would probably back away slowly and carefully. User Rabbit Carrot commented, “yeah but how did it break? Accidental damage or was the lion testing the fence like a Dino in Jurassic Park. If those lions are looking to escape we need to know!” We need to know, too. This is vital information that could potentially predict the fates of visitors to this particular wildlife establishment (via Bored Panda).

47) Ski Sign

According to this sign, it’s our decision if we leave the ski resort or not. If people chose to, they could die. These creepy signs deter us from doing anything stupid, which is definitely a good thing. Internet user Vorknkx said, “we’ve had many cases like this in my country. Reckless young skiers who thought it wouldn’t happen to them… until it did.” That’s usually what happens. It only takes one or a few people having an accident to show you that anything could happen. You think you’re safe on a ski mountain until you’re not (via Bored Panda).

46) Interactive Attraction

This sign warns people they’re entering an interactive attraction. If we saw creepy signs like this, we’d probably run the opposite way because we didn’t want to give consent to being touched and grabbed. It’s a good thing they have this warning sign, though, for people wearing glow necklaces. We’re curious to where this sign was, and what sort of place allows this. The creepiest part about this sign, though, is that the venue doesn’t take any responsibility for death or mental harm caused by your decision. That would probably be a big “no thanks” from most logical people in attendance (via Bored Panda).

""

45) ICU Beds

This is one of the last creepy signs you’d want to see while driving. It’s creepy because it almost forewarns your demise, if you’re not careful. It’s almost disapproving in a way, because it’s telling you to buckle up and not get into a car accident, in order to save beds for COVID. We get that, but imagine you got into an accident after reading that sign? It’s safe to assume that we’d probably feel like the doctors were harshly judging us (via Bored Panda). Either way, it seems like a lose-lose type of situation for people.

44) Swedish Sign

Even though many of us don’t speak any Swedish, the picture is enough to show us that it’s one of those creepy signs telling us we could die. Apparently, people need to be careful with their garbage bins, or else they could decapitate themselves. We love reading the comments on posts, as user Aran Lindvail said, “well that’s… graphic.” We couldn’t agree more (via Bored Panda).

43) Beware Of Hitchhikers

Imagine picking up a hitchhiker, which is something you shouldn’t be doing in the first place, and then seeing this sign immediately after? We’d pull over on the side of the road and force the person to exit our vehicle. What if they were in prison for murder? Better safe than sorry. Since the hitchhiker may be an escaping inmate, that’s terrifying, to say the least. These creepy signs, despite their supposed help, are horrifying to read for normal people simply driving down the interstate at night (via Bored Panda).

""
Bored Panda

42) Red Pen

While this is one of those creepy signs that send shivers down our spine, it’s also heartwarming to read. If someone was in trouble, they’d be able to ask for help with this somewhat discreet system of warming. It’s good to know women have support like this around the world if they are in an abusive situation they need to escape (via Bored Panda).

41) Leopard Meas In The Trees

If we were standing underneath a tree and a large hunk of deer meat suddenly fell on top of our heads, we’d probably vomit. That’s the last thing we’d want to see. Apparently, leopards hide their unfinished deer meat on top of trees, so this sign warns people of that. At least creepy signs like this can potentially save us a lot of trouble in the future, even though they freak us out (via Bored Panda). Getting hit in the head by a partially finished deer carcass would ruin anyone’s day.

40) You’ll Be Boiled

Creepy signs around the world often warn about dangerous animals or natural dangers like mountainous peril. This sign warns visitors that if they fall in this pond, they’ll get boiled. Basically, it’s telling people that they’ll become soup. That’s enough of a warning sign to make us stand quite a significant distance away from this pond (via Bored Panda). We kind of wonder why anyone would want to get anywhere close to this pond anyway.

""
Bored Panda

39) Incurable Disease

First, we’re wondering what disease is in this truck that’s incurable. Second, we’re wondering where it’s being transported to and for what reason? If we were any of the cars behind that truck, we’d stay far, far away from it. Creepy signs that warn about incurable diseases are frightening, as they’re both ominous and rare on a daily basis. That’s not something we’d want to get anywhere near. The driver of that truck is brave and is hopefully getting paid well for his or her efforts (via Bored Panda).

""
Bored Panda

38) Rhino Protection

While this sign is probably less creepy than sad, it’s still one of those signs that make us think about the reality of the situation. This sign tells visitors to not disclose the location of the rhinos so poachers did not potentially see it. Poachers illegally hunt and kill animals. When they poach rhinos, they’re mainly after their horns to sell. Hopefully, people pay attention to this sign and not disclose the location of the rhinos (via Bored Panda). It’s a shame that signs like this have to be in place in our world, but obviously, there’s a need for them as well.

""
Bored Panda

37) This Sign Is Disgusting

Being told you will go missing is not something to mess with. This is one of those creepy signs that would make anyone and everyone back away on their tiptoes and hide. This is an Apartheid-era sign near Johannesburg, South Africa that dates to 1953. Apparently, Natives, Indians, and Coloreds would go missing if they entered at night. The armed guards shoot at night and dogs will eat their corpses. This sign is something straight from a horror movie and it’s incredibly sad this was ever in place in our world at any time (via Bored Panda).

""
Bored Panda

36) Lockdown

This is an important sign to have at school, even though it creates panic and anxiety. In case of a shooting, doors in school need to be locked. Creepy signs like this are necessary for the safety of students and teachers in case anything bad should happen (via Bored Panda). With the unfortunate climate of mass shootings continuing to impact the United States on a daily basis, it’s beyond sad that this sign needs to be in place, but it still does.

""
Bored Panda

35) Sign On The Wrong Side?

We hope the same sign is on the other side. Because if it is not, a kid who goes down one way will get stuck on the slide. That could turn into a nightmare for any child who didn’t see it coming. This is one of those creepy signs where you can’t help but imagine what would happen if there wasn’t a “closed” sign at the opening of the slide (via Bored Panda).

""
Bored Panda

34) The Raccoon Room

This is one of the most interesting and confusing creepy signs on this list. First, the sign on the top mentions not to allow the pig in the raccoon room, whatever that means. Then it goes on to confirm that only lucky people get to enjoy a special moment where the raccoon climbs atop their head. You cannot force this kind of magic on your own. What does that even mean? We’ve tried to figure it out. We’re left with more questions than not and hope that those special people enjoy having a raccoon on their head (via Bored Panda).

""
Bored Panda

33) Don’t Make The Animals Sick

We understand not climbing on zoo fences. It seems like an aggressive sign, though, mentioning not to climb on the fence because the animals will get sick. Not that you would die or anything, but that the animal would suffer. Hopefully, that’s enough to deter anyone from climbing on a fence, although we don’t know who would do that in the first place because the threat of being attacked or eaten by any animal is clearly very real here (via Bored Panda).

""
Bored Panda

32) The Drowning Machine

This creepy sign seems self-explanatory. It warns people not to fall in the water because it’s a drowning machine. Even though it’s a horrendous way to die, at least they’re telling the truth. At least creepy signs like this one are honest enough to hopefully save your life (via Bored Panda). We’re hoping that it was enough to save people from what would be a horrible way to die.

""
Bored Panda

31) Watch Your Nose

We wouldn’t go anywhere near this water after seeing this sign. If the water got anywhere near our nose, we’d spend the next week in pure panic, wondering if an amoeba was eating our brain due to the rare infection it caused (via Bored Panda). This sign gets the point across rather effectively.

""
Bored Panda

30) Poison Spider Trail

If we saw this sign, we’d turn around that instant. Creepy signs that mention anything about poisonous insects or aggressive animals correctly deter people from going anywhere near them. At the very least, we’d be very cautious, wear long pants, and make sure no skin was exposed (via Bored Panda). But even if people took those precautions, going down something called ‘Poison Spider Trail’ just doesn’t seem like the most intelligent nature walk to take.

""
Bored Panda

29) Help

If we were walking in a forest and saw this tree concealing the sign, with only the word “help” exposed, we’d stop in our tracks. We’d wonder if the tree was secretly alive and didn’t want hikers to see this sign. Creepy signs like this make you pause and think, for a moment or two, if you want to continue onwards (via Bored Panda). It also makes you wonder what became of the person who needed the help. Or what this sign even entailed in the first place.

""
Bored Panda

28) Aggressive Geese

At first glance, you only notice the sign for aggressive geese. But if you look behind the sign, you see a poor fellow who didn’t pay any (or at least, enough) attention to the sign. A goose is attacking him. While it’s hilarious, we hope he was okay. These creepy signs shouldn’t be taken for granted, they’re there for a reason (via Bored Panda).

""
Bored Panda

27) Snake Got Loose Again

Thanks for the heads up, Norman. Apparently, the snake got loose… again. If a poisonous snake gets loose once, wouldn’t you think to do something about it? For example, maybe put it in a cage with a stronger lock? These kinds of creepy signs make you very aware of where you’re stepping, to prevent any poisonous snake bites (via Bored Panda).

""
Bored Panda

Creepy signs like this one might save a life or two. At least someone is waiting for the tank on the other side (via Bored Panda).

24) Holy Water Removed

At least they had the foresight to remove the Holy Water to prevent illness, otherwise, a lot of people could have gotten sick.

""
Bored Panda

23) Death By Crocodile

""

17) Black Death
